The Story
The “Kontor Shirt” continues the collaboration between Grocery and Otto Resource’s Purple Label, leaning slightly closer to our own universe in tone and attitude. Based on the earlier Function Complex II Staff Shirt, the style has been reimagined with a softer touch and a more relaxed character.
It features oversized chest pockets, a reduced Cuban collar and a flat-cut hem, details that carry over from its research origins. Mother-of-pearl buttons replace the original Cobrax snaps, giving the piece a quieter expression that sits naturally within everyday wear. The result is a familiar shape refined through a mix of curiosity and ease, sitting comfortably between utility and lightness.
Our aim wasn’t just to expand the collection, but to draw on Otto Resource’s interpretive approach—one that doesn’t seek to reinvent an established design language so much as quietly recalibrate it through new textiles, treatments, and contextual cues
